Beloit, WI-In an effort to raise awareness about the issues of domestic violence and honor survivors and victims, Family Services of So. Wisconsin’s DEFY program is hosting a Candlelight Vigil on Thursday, October 19 at the Harry C Moore Pavilion at 1240 Riverside Drive, Beloit beginning at 7 pm. This event is open to the public and aims to bring together community members, advocates, and allies to reflect on the impact of domestic violence. Domestic violence affects individuals and families across all walks of life, leaving physical and emotional scars that can last a lifetime. It is a pervasive issue that knows no boundaries, affecting people of all genders, ages, races, and socioeconomic backgrounds. The Candlelight Vigil is an opportunity for the community to unite and send a powerful message that domestic violence will not be tolerated, and survivors will be supported.
If you would like to take part in this important event or learn more about domestic violence and the support services offered by Family Services, please join us. Together we can shine a light on domestic violence and collectively work towards its eradication.
Family Services will provide free luminaries for anyone wishing to honor their loved one or themselves. The program will conclude with a roll call of names (first names only) to be honored with the lighting of the luminaries.
